
DHAKA, Dec 7, 2025 (BSS) - Country's both bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) today plunged as deteriorating investor sentiment pushed most scrip into the red.
DSEX, the broad index of the DSE, fell by 13.9 points to settle at 4,873 points as against 4,887 points in the previous trading session.
Meanwhile, market turnover slumped to around six-month low, declining by 26.5% to Taka 2.7 billion from Taka 3.6 billion in the previous session, reflecting subdued investor participation.
On the sectoral front, Pharma (14.5%) issues exerted the highest turnover, followed by Engineering (14.2%) and Food (13.2%) sectors. Almost all the sectors displayed dismal returns, out of which IT (-1.8%), Travel (-1.7%) and Paper (-1.6%) exerted the most corrections on the bourse today, while Services (3.5%) and Food (0.7%) exhibited marginal positive returns.
Out of the 397 issues traded, 109 advanced, 206 declined and 82 remained unchanged.
The port city bourse, CSE, also settled on a negative zone. The Selective Categories' Index (CSCX) and All Share Price Index (CASPI) declined by 37.4 points and 62.6 points, respectively.
