DHAKA, May 24, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced Jet A-1 (jet fuel) price by Taka.39.57 and $0.2562 per litre for domestic and international airlines respectively.

According to a BERC circular on Saturday evening, the price of Jet A-1 fuel was reduced by Tk 39.57 per litre to Tk 165.88 from Tk 205.45 per litre.

Besides, the BERC also reduced the price for international airlines by $0.2562 per litre to $1.0823 from $1.3385 per litre, it said.

According to the notification, the new pricing would come into effect from 12 midnight leading to May 23.

The BERC announced the price of jet fuel for the first time in May 2025 and said that jet fuel price would be adjusted with the international market every month.

"If the price in the international market increases, it will be increased in Bangladesh, and if it decreases, it will be decreased in local market," according to a BERC official.

Earlier, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) usually fixes the price from time to time.

The BERC said considering the Platts Rate from May 5 to May 21 on an average, it reduced the jet fuel price for May 2026.

The regulatory agency held a public hearing on Saturday in accordance with Sections 22 (Kha) and 34 of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.
