DHAKA, May 24, 2026 (BSS) - The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI),District Police and bKash have organised awareness workshops in Naogaon, Natore and Dinajpur to keep daily transactions through mobile financial services (MFS) safe and secure.
This coordinated effort is part of an ongoing series of initiatives aimed at preventing the misuse of MFS in criminal activities, said a press release.
The workshops shed light on how law enforcement can leverage transactional data to identify criminal gangs and bring them to justice.
Recently, bKash organised three separate day-long workshops titled“Investigation and Prevention of Mobile Financial Services Misuse” at the respective conference rooms at PBI Natore, Naogaon District Police and Dinajpur Police Lines In-Service Training Centre.
About 140 investigation officers from the District Police and PBI participated in the workshops. So far, 4,500 investigation officers from various law enforcement agencies have participated in such workshops by bKash in different districts.
PBI Natore Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Naogaon District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tariqul Islam and Dinajpur District Superintendent of Police Md. Zedan Al Musa, PPM, were present as the chief guests at the respective workshops.
On behalf of bKash, EVP and Head of External Affairs Major AKM Monirul Karim (Retd.) was present at the workshops.
The workshops featured detailed discussions on leveraging technology to track customers’ lost funds, monitoring digital transactions to prevent crimes like kidnapping, and streamlining communication between investigators and bKash.
Additionally, the sessions emphasised immediate protocols to follow when a criminal incident occurs.
Because digital transactions leave a digital footprint, every transaction can be monitored and tracked. This allows investigative bodies including the Police, DB, CID, and PBI to carry out investigation process more accurately.
In this regard, bKash has been continuously organising workshops titled “Investigation and Prevention of Mobile Financial Services Misuse” with different stakeholder since 2017.
