Remittance inflow remains strong with 18.73pc FY growth

DHAKA, June 9, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh continues to witness robust remittance inflows in the current fiscal year, with expatriate Bangladeshis sending over $33.74 billion during the period from July 2025 to June 8, 2026, marking an impressive 18.73 percent growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank released today, remittance inflow reached $33.74 billion till June 8 of FY2025-26, up from $28.41 billion received during the same period of FY2024-25.

On June 8, 2026, expatriates sent $107.94 million through official banking channels, reflecting the continued contribution of overseas workers to the country's foreign exchange reserves.

Inflow of remittances also witnessed a year-on-year growth of 7.92 percent reaching US$979.09 million in the first eight days of June.

Last year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $907.20 million.
