CHANDPUR, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces recovered five pipe guns and several other country-made weapons during an overnight operation in Dokanghar area of the district headquarters last night.

Lt. Jabid Hasan, Operational Officer of the Chandpur Army Camp, confirmed the information on Wednesday afternoon.

According to official sources, the ongoing joint anti-crime operation -- launched on September 4 last year -- is targeting miscreants, terrorists, drug dealers, extortionists, and illegal arms holders across the district.

As part of this effort, the latest raid was carried out from the Sadar Army Camp at midnight based on secret intelligence.

During the operation, law enforcers recovered five pipe guns, a Chinese axe, and four ramdas (sharp weapons) from the area of Sadar upazila.

Lt. Hasan said the recovered weapons have been handed over to the Sadar Model Police Station for further legal action.
