RANGPUR, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested the 
mastermind of an online fraud ring, who used to cheat people by dressing up 
as a woman in uniform and pretending to be a member of various defense forces 
today.
 
He was arrested with Army and Navy uniforms and other goods including, fake 
NID cards, button- and smart mobiles, one bunch of girls' wig and makeup set 
from village Abhiram (Nama Dola) under Pirgachha police station of Rangpur at 
1:30 am today.
 
The detainee is Md Nazmul Hasan alias Jim, 24, son of Md Sajjad Hossain alias 
Zahidul Islam of the same village, a press release said tonight.
 
According to the release, the arrested man along with his associates, posing 
as army soldiers, proposed the plaintiff to purchase a share of 10 'Kathas' 
of land in Rajshahi. 
 
They also said that they had purchased two shares. One of the two shares 
belonged to a female soldier. 
 
But since the female soldier could not pay the full amount of money, they 
sought some money from the plaintiff on the promise of selling the share and 
paying the money. 
 
In addition, the accused at different times wore military uniforms and talked 
to the plaintiff through online video calls to gain his trust and lured the 
plaintiff by promising to buy a share for a small amount. 
 
As the accused introduced themselves as military soldiers, the plaintiff paid 
a total of Taka 17.26-lakh in stages for purchasing a share of land in good 
faith. 
 
However, the accused kept delaying the payment of shares and demanded an 
additional Taka five lakh, which made the plaintiff suspicious. 
 
Later, the plaintiff filed a fraud case at Hossainpur Police Station in 
Kishoreganj district in this incident on November 7, 2025.
 
On a tip off, a team of the RAB-13's CPSC from Rangpur Camp conducted a raid 
in Abhiram village of Rangpur and arrested Md Nazmul Hasan alias Jim at 1.30 
am today.
 
During primary interrogation, the arrested accused admitted that he has 
defrauded many people by introducing himself as a member of the army and navy 
at different times. 
 
He sometimes introduced himself as a female army member and used to deceive 
through video calls by dressing up as a woman and speaking in a woman's voice 
and collecting money by implicating women in scams. 
 
The arrested accused has been handed over to Hossainpur police station in 
Kishoreganj district for further legal action.
