Digital media training for Khagrachhari journalists begins

KHAGRACHHARI, Nov 29, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day digital media training 
workshop for journalists working in various media outlets across the district 
and its upazilas began here today.

The workshop, organised by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), was 
inaugurated on Saturday morning at the Khagrachhari Press Club Hall. 

Deputy Commissioner Md. Anwar Sadat attended the event as the chief guest 
while Director General (DG) of the PIB Faruk Wasif presided over the 
inaugural session.

In his remarks, the PIB DG said the initiative aims to equip journalists with 
the skills needed to stay technologically updated in an evolving digital 
landscape. 

He emphasized the importance of enhancing journalists' capacity in digital 
tools and practices to ensure accurate, efficient, and modern reporting.

The training will cover a range of topics, including modern techniques of 
using digital media, fact-checking methods, online security, and multimedia 
storytelling.

A total of 35 journalists from different upazilas of the district are 
participating in the workshop. PIB trainer Zilhas Uddin Nipun is conducting 
the sessions, which will continue until Monday.
