RAJSHAHI, Dec 7, 2025 (BSS) – Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has launched “Traffic Week-2025” aimed at strengthening road discipline and enhancing public awareness across the metropolis.

RMP Commissioner Dr. Zillur Rahman inaugurated the week, themed “Soroke Shrinkhola Manun, Nirapod Rajshahi Gorun”, by releasing festoons and balloons in front of the RMP headquarters this morning as the chief guest.

Additional Commissioners Nazmul Hossain and Khorshed Alam, along with other senior and junior officials, were present on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner Dr. Zillur Rahman said that enforcing laws alone is not enough to restore order on the roads; conscious participation of the public is equally essential.

He added that Traffic Week will play a vital role in raising awareness about traffic laws among citizens.

To mark the week, extensive traffic enforcement and awareness activities will be carried out at Zero Point, Moni Crossing, Laxmipur Crossing, Gourhanga and Bhadra Crossing.

In addition, members of the Rover Scouts, BNCC, Red Crescent and Nirapod Sorok Chai will take part in awareness activities at various points.

Later, a colourful rally, with participants from BRTA, Rajshahi City Corporation, RDA, BNCC, Scouts and Red Crescent, paraded through different city streets to raise public awareness on road safety.
