HABIGANJ, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - The district administration today observed Begum Rokeya Day with a discussion meeting and an award ceremony recognizing 10 indomitable women for their significant contributions to local development.

The event was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office. 

Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs, Romana Akhter presided over the meeting while Deputy Commissioner Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin attended as the chief guest.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Moinul Haque, Additional Superintendent of Police Shahidul Islam Munshi and Habiganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fatema Toz Zahura addressed the programme, highlighting the role of women in social progress and empowerment.

At the end of the discussion, the authorities honored 10 indomitable women from various sectors for their outstanding contributions to the development of Habiganj district.
