MANIKGANJ, May 23, 2026 (BSS) – A pedestrian was killed in a road accident at the Barangail bus stand area in the district today.

The deceased was identified as Pannu, 50, son of late Shukur Ali, a resident of Tepri village under Daulatpur upazila.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barangail Highway Police Md Harun Or Rashid said the accident occurred around 2:00pm when a Paturia-bound truck hit Pannu, leaving him dead on the spot.
 
Police seized the truck, but its driver managed to flee the scene, the OC added.
