Ruhul Amin elected BCB director

BAGERHAT, June 9, 2026 (BSS) - Sheikh Ruhul Amin, a young social worker and prominent philanthropist, has been elected as the director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

A man of Rampal upazila in Bagerhat, he was elected as the BCB director in a direct voting held on Saturday. His success has drawn a response of joy from various social, cultural and professional circles of the district.

A former student of Dhaka University, Sheikh Ruhul Amin is a resident of village Baradia in Rampal upazila. He is the eldest son of former teacher Alhaj Mohammad Ali. He is also the cousin of State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Sheikh Faridul Islam.

Along with business activities, he has been involved in various social and public welfare activities for a long time.

According to local sources, he has been regularly assisting in the development of mosques, madrasas and religious-social institutions in different parts of the country, including Rampal. 
Leaders of various political, social and professional organizations have congratulated him in separate statements, welcoming his appointment to this important position in the cricket arena of Bangladesh.

In their congratulatory messages, they expressed hope that Sheikh Ruhul Amin's experience, leadership qualities and organizational skills will play an important role in the development of cricket in the country and further enriching Bangladeshi cricket in the international arena.

Among the congratulators are Rampal Upazila Development Forum convener former district judge Sheikh Jalal Uddin, senior convener former headmaster freedom fighter Sheikh Sultan Ahmed, joint convener Rampal Government College principal A. Hannan, former headmaster Sheikh A. Mannan, Major (Retd.) Mallik Moniruzzaman and member secretary M. A. Sabur Rana.

In addition, Rampal Press Club convener Motahar Hossain Mallik, member secretary Md. Mehedi Hasan, members Md. Rizaul Islam, A. H. Nantu, Sujan Majumder, Md. Tariqul Islam, Molla Hafizur Rahman, Md. Kabir Akbar Pintu, Laila Sultana and Murshida Parvin, along with the leaders of the organization, also congratulated him.
