CHATTOGRAM, Sept 1, 2026 (BSS)- A total of 241 individuals have been 
apprehended during the anti-drug special operation and regular cases here in 
the past 24 hours.

Chattogram Range DIG Office disclosed the information today. 

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury reported that 
among the arrested, 51 are related to regular cases, 28 are under Section 34 
of the Police Act, three are under Section, 54 of the Criminal Procedure 
Code, 59 are under warrants, and 14 are under sentence warrants.

Additionally, 86 individuals have been detained in connection with drug-
related offenses. This group includes 28 drug dealers, one drug carrier, and 
57 drug users. 

Abdul Kuddus also mentioned that 36 individuals have received various prison 
sentences through mobile courts as part of the anti-drug initiative. 

Besides, a total fine of Taka 11,650 has been levied. 

During this operation, 22 cases have been registered under the Narcotics 
Control Act. The narcotics seized during the operation consist of 12,791 Yaba 
tablets, 207.524-kg of marijuana and 13 liters of alcohol.
