LA PAZ, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Bolivia and the United States will restore diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level after a 17-year break, Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz and US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau announced Saturday.

"We're going to establish those relations," Bolivia's new center-right leader said, with the Trump administration official specifying relations will resume at the ambassadorial level.

Leftist former president Evo Morales expelled Washington's top diplomat in Bolivia after accusing him of supporting a right-wing conspiracy, and the US reciprocated the gesture.
