Five parliamentary committees formed

SANGSAD BHABAN, Mar 12, 2026 (BSS) – The 13thJatiya Sangsad (JS) today formed five parliamentary committees on different ministries.

Chief Whip of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Nurul Islam Moni on behalf of the Leader of the House and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman proposed formation of the committees.

Later, the proposals were adopted by voice votes with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad in  the chair.

The parliamentary committees are – Business Advisory Committee headed by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, parliamentary committee headed by Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, special committee headed by Jainal Abedin of Barishal-3, Standing Committee of Privileges headed by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad and Committee on Private Members’ Bills and Resolutions headed by M Shahjahan of Noakhali-4.

A 14-member special committee has been formed in the first session of the 13th parliament to examine and scrutinize the bills sent by the parliament during the session and the committee will work before constitution of the standing committees on ministries, said the Chief Whip.
