DHAKA, Nov 12,, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh is committed to actively contributing to the successful implementation of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 by sending its skilled workers to the country.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Dr Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan said this at the inauguration ceremony of a human resources and manpower fair in Riyadh, yesterday, according to a message received here today.
Terming Bangladesh a country of immense potential, Neyamat Ullah said one-third of Bangladesh’s entire workforce is young people aged in between 15 to 29, while every year, about two million new workforce join the labour market.
He said over 10,000 public and private technical and vocational education and training institutes of Bangladesh have set a target of creating 8.8 million skilled manpower by 2025 while 20.9 million by 2030.
He hoped that the country’s skilled workforce would be able to contribute to the industry, physical infrastructure construction sector as well as information technology, healthcare, agriculture, transport and logistics, and tourism sectors.
He said more than 15 million workers are contributing to the Bangladesh economy by working as remittance warriors in over 170 countries.
Dr Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan invited Saudi Arabian recruiting agencies to visit Bangladesh to observe various training facilities and invest in human resource development.
The four-day fair was attended by 65 human resource and manpower related institutions from eight countries including Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, England, and Indonesia.
For the first time, Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL) participated in the fair.
National Skill Development Authority Executive Chairman Dr Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury, BOESL Managing Director Md Saiful Islam and officials of the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh were present.
