DHAKA, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS)- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has termed the mechanical fault as the reason for fire in the single cabin police pick-up van in front of Ramna Police Station in the city today.

“It is just an accident. We humbly request everyone not to spread any confusion about this,” DMP said in a statement.

The statement said, despite repeated attempts of a mechanic the vehicle could not be made roadworthy. At one point, the vehicle’s engine overheated and caught fire, causing the worker to sustain minor injuries.

Saying the incident purely an accidental one, DMP requested all not to spread misinformation on social media regarding the matter.

The statement also said that earlier in the morning, a microbus caught fire due to a mechanical fault on the Airport Road in the capital.
