Govt appoints 31 additional deputy commissioners

DHAKA, Dec 09, 2025 (BSS) – The government has appointed 31 senior assistant secretaries as additional deputy commissioners (ADCs) in different districts across the country.

“The government has delegated the powers of additional district magistrate to these 31 officers (BCS administration cadre) under Section 10(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, to enable them to discharge their duties within their respective jurisdictions,” according to a notification.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued the transfer order, signed by Deputy Secretary Aminul Islam, here yesterday.

The notification said the transferred officers must join their designated stations by December 11; otherwise, they will stand released from that afternoon.

Rajshahi, Chuadanga, Shariatpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Joypurhat, Rajbari, Pirojpur, Dinajpur, Meherpur, Feni, Jhinaidah, Magura, Lakshmipur, Narsingdi, Kushtia, Satkhira, Habiganj, Bagerhat, Jhalokathi, Narayanganj, Tangail, Bhola, Kurigram, Thakurgaon and Nilphamari districts will receive new ADCs, the notification added.
