PM visits three-day Nazrul Fair in Trishal

MYMENSINGH, May 23, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the three-day Nazrul Fair organised on the Nazrul Academy premises in Trishal here on Saturday evening, marking the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

“Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the Nazrul Fair after inaugurating the three-day national programme marking the birth anniversary of the National Poet. He toured different stalls at the fair,” said Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.

He said the Prime Minister also visited a special photo exhibition titled “Drohher Kobi, Praner Kobi” showcasing the life and works of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

The three-day programme is being organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs on the Nazrul Academy premises at Darirampur in Trishal, where the poet's childhood memories are intertwined.

Later, Tarique Rahman, also ruling BNP chairman, exchanged views with BNP leaders of Mymensingh city, north and south units.
