DHAKA, Nov 29, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will leave home for the United Kingdom (UK) tomorrow on a 10-day visit.

During his stay in London, he will remain busy for political and party activities there, BNP media cell sources said told BSS today.

He is scheduled to meet the party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, who is currently staying in London.

Another source of BNP media cell said that the party's secretary general is expected to return home on December 11.

After his return to Bangladesh, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia may go to London for treatment. She is (Khaleda Zia) expected to leave Dhaka for London on December 13 as preparations are being taken to this end.

Earlier, BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury told reporters that Begum Khaleda Zia will first undergo treatment in the UK. After that, she may go to the United States for further treatment.
