DHAKA, Nov 30, 2024 (BSS) - Journalist Munni Saha was arrested from Karwan Bazar in the city tonight.

She was detained around 10pm in a case filed in July, said DMP deputy commissioner (Media) Muhammad Talebur Rahman.

According to police, Munni Saha went to a media office at Janata Tower in Kawran Bazar. While she was leaving the office by car, a group of people blocked her way. On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and rescued her from the people.

Munni Saha was taken to the Tejgaon Police Station first, he said, adding that later, she was shifted to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) office on Minto Road.

Multiple cases were filed against Munni Saha.

Currently, she is working as an editor of an online portal called 'Ek Takar Khabor'.
