DMP files 2,400 cases against traffic rules violations

DHAKA, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) - As part of the ongoing campaign to bring traffic system under control, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 2,400 cases against vehicles, owners and its drivers for violating traffic rules.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that the DMP traffic division conducted campaign against traffic breakers during the last one day and filed cases.

He said that the DMP traffic police dumped 486 motor vehicles and towed 97 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on November 11.

According the press release, several teams of the DMP traffic division have been working to bring traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.

The release further said that campaign against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.

Motijheel traffic division filed 408 cases, Wari division registered 323 cases, Tejgaon division filed 311 cases, Mirpur division filed 328 cases, Gulshan division filed 337 cases, Uttara division registered 349 cases, Ramna division filed 107 cases and Lalbagh division registered 237 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
