Film actor Rajib's 21st death anniversary toady

PATUAKHALI, Nov 14, 2025 (BSS) - The 21st death anniversary of film actor Wasimul Bari Rajib was today.
 
He acted in more than 200 Bangla films. Although successful as a villain, he has also acted in different roles in many films. 

On November 14, 2004, the actor lost his battle against cancer and left his loved ones and fans in tears. Today (November 14) marks the 21st anniversary of his passing.

Rajib was born on January 1, 1952, in Dumki Upazila of Patuakhali district.
 
The talented actor made his debut with the film "Rakhe Allah Mare Ke" in the early 80s. He was featured as the lead actor in the film "Khokonshona".

Rajib was involved in various film-related institutions and organisations. His production company was Friends Movies. 

He served as the manager of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). He also served as the president of Jatiyatabadi Film Council. Before starting acting in films, Rajib worked at Titas Gas Company.

Apart from acting, Rajib also possessed outstanding leadership qualities. In addition to his duties as the managing director of BFDC, he was the founding organising secretary of Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas), a cultural affiliate of BNP. Later, he served as the general secretary and president of the organisation.

Rajib won the National Film Award four times in the "Best Supporting Actor" category.
