International conference on Recent Advances in Science and Technology begins at RU

RAJSHAHI, Nov 14, 2025 (BSS) - A two-day international conference on Recent Advances in Science and Technology began at Rajshahi University (RU) today.

The Faculty of Science is hosting the international event at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium offering a venue for researchers, scientists, and industry experts to present and discuss new developments and innovations in science and technology. 

It aims to provide a platform for researchers to share innovations, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote knowledge exchange between academia and industry. 

Showcasing cutting-edge research, identifying future research directions, and facilitating networking among professionals and students are the main objectives. 

Member of University Grants Commission Professor Saidur Rahman addressed the inaugural session as the chief guest, while RU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Khan spoke as patron with Science Faculty Dean Prof Nasima Akhter in the chair.

Vice-chancellor of Asian University of Bangladesh Prof Shahjahan Khan and Professor Emeritus of Department of Physics Professor Azharul Islam also spoke.

Professor Saidur Rahman said the conference has brought together professionals from diverse scientific and technological fields to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.

It's showcasing cutting-edge research and facilitates the sharing of knowledge between academic institutions and industry.

He also said the international meet is highlighting emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in various areas of science and technology to inspire new ideas.

Besides, it has created opportunities for researchers, educators, industry practitioners, and students to network and form potential collaborations.

It's also encouraging global scientific and technological progress through dialogue and knowledge sharing among participants worldwide.
 
A total of 504 research papers, including 272 poster presentations, is scheduled to present in 35 academic sessions.
