DHAKA, Nov 29, 2025 (BSS) - A delegation of the National Citizen Party (NCP)
today visited BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia,
who is currently undergoing treatment in a critical condition at the
capital's Evercare Hospital.

The three-member team, led by NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary,
arrived at the hospital around 10:15am. Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr
Tasnim Jara and Chief Organiser for Southern Region Hasnat Abdullah were also
part of the delegation.

The NCP leaders spoke with the medical team supervising Khaleda Zia's
treatment and inquired about her latest health condition and ongoing
therapies.

Talking to reporters after the visit, Hasnat Abdullah expressed concern over
the former prime minister's deteriorating health and said the entire nation
is praying for her recovery.

He said, "She (Khaleda Zia) had long been denied proper medical care while in
custody, which contributed to her current condition."

Khaleda Zia remains in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) in what doctors describe
as an "extremely critical" state. She was admitted with severe respiratory
distress and a lung infection, which later developed into pneumonia.

In a Facebook post, Nasiruddin Patwari wrote, "Begum Khaleda Zia's condition
remains critical but stable. Alhamdulillah, she is able to follow the
instructions of doctors and nurses. In this difficult moment, we humbly
request everyone to pray for her. Your sincere dua is the strongest support
she needs right now."

Her long-standing complications including kidney and liver issues, arthritis,
and diabetes have further complicated her treatment, with one condition
affecting the management of another.
