Teachers' professional skills key to quality education: KUET VC

KHULNA, Dec 2, 2025 (BSS) -Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Maksud Helali today said enhancing teachers' professional skills is essential for ensuring quality higher education.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at a day-long workshop titled "Course Profile Preparation and Course Outcome-Program Outcome (CO-PO) Attainment Calculation", held at the administrative building's conference room of KUET.

Organised by the university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the workshop is part of ongoing efforts to implement Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and improve the standard of higher studies at the university.

"There is no alternative to capacity-building initiatives like this. The knowledge gained here must be applied effectively to prepare accurate course profiles and ensure transparency in attainment calculations," Prof. Dr. Helali said. 

He expressed hope that participants would benefit from the training and help elevate KUET's quality of teaching.

Prof. Dr. Monir Hossain, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Awlad Hossain of the same department conducted technical sessions as resource persons. Prof. Dr. Md. Hasanuzzaman, Director of IQAC, KUET, presided over the event.

The sessions focused on preparing course profiles and the methodology of CO-PO attainment calculation. 

Faculty members and officials of the ECE Department took part in the programme, receiving hands-on training in curriculum design, assessment methods, and attainment calculations necessary for the successful implementation of the OBE system.
