
DHAKA, Nov 29, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Railway (BR) has identified a total of 5,446 ticketless passengers in a single day during a series of drives conducted on 162 trains, realising TK 10,48,810 as fares and penalties.
The information was published today on the verified Facebook page of BR .
According to the update, the mobile operations were carried out yesterday (Friday) across both the eastern and western zones of the railway network.
In the eastern zone, 100 TTEs (Travelling Ticket Examiners) conducted ticket inspections in 79 trains.
They detected 2,234 ticketless passengers, realising TK 3,34,755 as fares and TK 1,50,460 as penalties.
The collected total amount stood at TK 4,85,215.
A total of 2,752 tickets were verified during the drives.
Meanwhile, in the western zone, 96 TTEs carried out inspections on 83 trains.
During the operation, 3,212 ticketless passengers were identified. Fares were collected amounting to TK 3,99,320, while penalties stood at TK 1,64,275, bringing the total to TK 5,63,595. Additionally, 1,805 tickets were verified during the drives.
Bangladesh Railway stated that such drives are part of continued efforts to curb ticketless travel and improve revenue collection.
