European Film Festival 2025 concludes with closing screenings at BRAC University

DHAKA, Dec 7, 2025 (BSS) - The four-day European Film Festival 2025, featuring an eclectic mix of films from European countries and Bangladesh, concluded today with special closing screenings at the BRAC University Auditorium.

The final day's screening began at 4:30 pm with the presentation of three shortlisted entries from the Mobile Short Film Competition, showcasing young and emerging filmmakers.

The fest concludes with the screening of Primadonna; The Girl from Tomorrow (Italy), at 5:00 pm.

European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller delivered the concluding speech and thanked all stakeholders for making the fest successful and engaging.

Since its opening on December 4 at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy Auditorium, the festival has attracted enthusiastic audiences at multiple venues in Dhaka and Mymensingh.

Over the past four days, film lovers were treated to a diverse selection of European and Bangladeshi films presented at Alliance Fran‡aise de Dhaka, Goethe-Institut Bangladesh, and the Tareq Memorial Auditorium.

Screenings included Bangladeshi titles such as Foul and Nishi, alongside acclaimed European productions including Transit (Germany), Gallant Indies (France), January (Latvia), Warboy (Romania), My Wonderful Life (Poland), and Foscadh (Ireland) and etc.

Organised with support from the European Union, the festival brought together cross-cultural dialogue and cinematic exchange with all regular shows open to the public on a first-come, first-seated basis.

The European Film Festival 2025 was hosted in collaboration with the Dhaka University Film Society, BRAC University Film Club, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Alliance Fran‡aise de Dhaka, Goethe-Institut Bangladesh, the British Council, and the International Academy of Film and Media.

This year's festival theme was, 'In Transition', and it explored personal, societal, and environmental transformation through the language of film.
