DHAKA, May 23, 2026 (BSS) — Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized nearly 100,000 yaba tablets during an anti-narcotics operation in the Jaruliachhari border area of Naikhongchhari upazila in Bandarban.

According to a BGB press release, a patrol team from Naikhongchhari Battalion (11 BGB) conducted the operation last night based on a tip-off.

During the search, the team recovered 99,940 yaba tablets from two abandoned bags hidden in an eggplant field west of the Jame Mosque in South Moulvikhata village, near border pillar 46.

Naikhongchhari Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Md Faizul Kabir said Border Guard Bangladesh is working relentlessly to ensure border security and prevent smuggling, human trafficking, illegal intrusion, and drug trafficking.

He added that under BGB’s “zero tolerance” policy on narcotics, the force has strengthened surveillance and vigilance across border areas to curb drug smuggling.
