DHAKA, May 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has strengthened security measures at Kamalapur Railway Station to ensure safe, smooth, and hassle-free travel for homebound passengers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha 2026.

As part of the enhanced security arrangement, the DMP has deployed its specially trained K9 unit at the railway station to prevent sabotage, criminal activities, and other security threats during the Eid rush.

Members of the K9 dog squad are conducting regular inspections and surveillance at station entrances, platforms, passenger luggage areas, waiting rooms, and other important points across the station premises.

According to the DMP, the special security operation will continue throughout the Eid travel period to maintain law and order, detect suspicious objects, and ensure passenger safety.

Earlier today, Railways Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam and State Minister for Railways Habibur Rashid visited the station and observed the activities of the deployed K9 unit.

They expressed satisfaction with the DMP's security initiatives aimed at ensuring a safe Eid journey for passengers.

The DMP has also intensified security and intelligence surveillance at major railway stations, bus terminals, and other transport hubs across the capital ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
