36 suspected criminals held in city

DHAKA, June 9, 2026 (BSS) – A total of 36 suspected criminals involved in various criminal activities were arrested during special drives conducted by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) from  city’s Jatrabari and Mugda areas. 

“They were involved in various crimes under Jatrabari and Mugda Police Station areas,” said a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media division here today.

It said that Jatrabari Police Station conducted a special operation in various crime-prone areas on Sunday and arrested 24, while Mugda police arrested 12 from its jurisdiction.

The DMP press release said that police produced them before the court.

Jatrabari Police Station arrested Md Al Amin (40), Md Mohsin Mia (50), Md Milan Mia (37), Md Shamim Mia (23), Halima Akhter (32), Selina Khatun (45), Md Habibur Rahman Habib (24), Md Ismail Hossain (20), Yasin Mia (19), Md Iqbal Hossain (19), Md Alamgir Hossain alias Shanto (27),  Nazma Begum (50), Md Asif (21), Md Sazzat Hossain (22), Naeem Mridha (25), Md Jabed (38), Md Selim Babu (35), Md Johnny (42), Shila (50), Sajal (26), Md Nur Islam (19), Md Abu Taleb Sarkar (32), Md Yusuf (32) and Nazmul (21).

Mugda Police Station also arrested 12 suspected criminals including Sohan (20), Rahat (19), Russell (37), Md Sifat (18), Md Shaheen (19), Ashikur Rahman (25), Md Roman (25), Sajal (28), Md Mahim (25), Md Al Amin (26), Md Shaon (26) and Md Shamim (36).
