Adrito ton leads Bangladesh U17 to 7-wicket win over SL

DHAKA, Dec 7, 2025 (BSS) - Adrito Ghosh hit a brilliant century as Bangladesh 
Under-17 team made a winning start to the three-match one-day series against 
Sri Lanka Under-17 with a crushing 78-run victory in the first game at Bir 
Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram today.

Put in to bat first, Bangladesh youngsters compiled a respectable 271-6 with 
No.3 batter Adrito leading the charge with 103 not out. He struck eight fours 
and two sixes in his knock, playing 137 balls.

No other batters could even hit a half-century with opener Mohammad Naiem and 
Sourav Karmakar hitting 32 each for the second-best score for the side.

Himaru Deshan took 2-34 for Sri Lanka U17 team.

Bangladesh, bowlers, then put on a disciplined show with the cherry, leaving 
Sri Lanka stifle for runs. The visitors eventually managed to put up just 
193-7, conceding a defeat in the very first game. Jason Fernando was the top-
scorer for the visitors with 78.

The next two one-day matches will be held on December 9 and 12 at the same 
venue.

Earlier, the two three-day game between the two sides was drawn 1-1.
