DHAKA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS)-As many as seven Bangladesh cricketers made it to the final auction list of Indian Premier League (IPL), which will be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman is the only Bangladesh player who has prior experience in the tournament. He was placed in the highest base-price bracket of INR 2 crore, joining 40 players in that category.
The left-arm pacer has so far featured in 60 IPL matches across five franchises, claiming 65 wickets at an average of 28.44 and an economy rate of 8.13.
Including Mustafizur, all seven Bangladeshis are bowlers. The other six cricketers are left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam, and right-arm pacers Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan.
Rishad, Taskin, Shoriful, Tanzim and Nahid have been listed in the INR 75 lakh base-price category, while Rakibul Hasan has been in the INR 30 lakh bracket.
According to a BCCI media release, a total of 1,390 players had registered for the mini auction for the 2026 season. But following a scrutiny the BCCI finalised a list of 350 players -- both domestic and overseas-- which includes 240 Indian cricketers and 110 overseas players. A maximum of 77 players can be bought in this mini auction, with up to 31 slots available for foreign recruits.
However, veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan's name is missing from the final list. Although he was initially included in the long list, he did not make the final cut.
