Brothers Union edge past Abahani Limited in Fed Cup

DHAKA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS)- Brothers Union Club registered their first win in 
the Federation Cup Football when they edged past Abahani Limited Dhaka by a 
solitary goal in their second group match held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta 
Stadium in Cumilla today (Tuesday).

In the day's match, left back Monir Alam scored the all-important goal for 
Brothers Union Club in the 27th minute of the match.

With this win, the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club raised 
their tally to four points from two matches while the sky blue Dhanmondi 
outfit remained with their previous collection of three points playing the 
same number of outings.

Brothers Union Club and Abahani Limited will play their next group matches 
against PWD Sports Club and Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society on December 
23 respectively.
 
Earlier, Brothers Union Club played out to a goalless draw with Rahmatganj 
while Abahani Limited beat Fakirerpool Young Men's Club by 4-2 goals in their 
respective group opening matches.
