20th Asian Games Fun Run to be held tomorrow in capital

DHAKA, June 9, 2026 (BSS)-The 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 20th Asian Games 
Fun Run rally tomorrow (Wednesday) in the city, said a Bangladesh Olympic 
Association (BOA) press release .

Ahead of the Asian Games, the Olympic Council of Asia and the 20th Asian 
Games Organizing Committee jointly organize the Fun Run Program across Asian 
countries. The main objective of this initiative is to engage the people of 
participating nations with the Games and to spread the Asian Games' message 
of peace and friendship throughout the region.

As part of this initiative, the BOA has planned to celebrate the Fun Run 
Program I tomorrow (Wednesday). 

State Minister for Youth and Sports, Md. Aminul Haque has kindly agreed to 
attend the event as the chief guest.

To observe the Fun Run event, four representatives from the Olympic Council 
of Asia and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee arrived in the 
capital on Monday last. Following the completion of the program, they are 
scheduled to depart Dhaka on June 11.

The four-member representatives are Jian Zhou, director of media and 
broadcast and Hannan Abbas Kabri (Olympic Council of Asia), Toshikazu Honjo 
and Saki Ikai (Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee).

The Fun Run rally will commence at 7:30 am from the Bangladesh Shishu Academy 
and conclude at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Indoor Stadium.

Participants in the event will receive certificates and T-shirts from BOA. In 
addition, various sports demonstrations will be organized at the Shaheed 
Tajuddin Ahmad Indoor Stadium to make the event more enjoyable and 
attractive. Commemorative medals, provided by the Games Organizing Committee 
and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), will also be awarded to the winners as 
prizes.

In this regards, a press conference was held today (Tuesday) at BOA 
auditorium to provide all the details of the Fun Run.

The 20th Asian Games will be held from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi-
Nagoya, Japan.
