DHAKA, Oct 03, 2024 (BSS) - Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) vice-chairman Md Anwar Hossain has laid emphasis on ensuring cargo facilities at Chattogram and Sylhet airports like Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
“Bangladesh has huge potentiality to export agricultural products such as vegetable and fruits and live and frozen fish. But lack of proper services in airport, the desired growth of exports is being hindered,” he said.
The EPB VC said this while a 10-member team headed by Md Anwar Hossain visited the cargo village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday, said a press release.
The team included representatives from Bangladesh Biman, Bangladesh Bank, Directorate of Agricultural Extension and Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association (BAFFA).
During his visit, Md Anwar Hossain suggested ensuring the quality of perishable and pharmaceutical products after offloading from the trucks before transferring those to the airport cooling chain.
