DHAKA, Oct 5, 2024 (BSS) – Shipping, Jute and Textiles Adviser Brig Gen (Retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain today visited Cloth Processing Centre under Bangladesh Handloom Board, Bangladesh Handloom Education & Training Institute (BHETI) and United-Meghna-Chandpur (UMC) Jute Mill in Narsingdi.
After visiting the Cloth Processing Centre, he said “It acts as a service centre for helping weavers having small investment.”
The small investors get services at relatively low cost from here. The Ministry will review the activities of Cloth Processing Centre so that it can provide better services to them (small investors).
Later, the Adviser participated in a view exchanging meeting at Bangladesh Handloom Education & Training Institute (BHETI) as chief guest where he was informed about the limitations of the institute.
He directed the secretary of the ministry concerned to form a committee to resolve the existing problems of BHETI for making it a modern institute.
"Necessary action will be taken based on the report submitted by the committee," he added.
Earlier, the Adviser also visited United-Meghna-Chandpur Jute Mill and gave necessary directives to improve its production.
