RAJSHAHI, Oct 31, 2024 (BSS)- Speakers at a workshop here today unequivocally called for bringing all the innovators and businessmen under the protection of intellectual property for the sake of facing the existing challenges of the business sector.
 
The Department of Patent, Industrial Design and Trademarks (DPDT) under the Ministry of Industries organized the divisional workshop titled "Intellectual Property Management: Protection Challenges of Trade and Innovated Products and Way forward" at Nanking Darbar Hall here.

During his keynote presentation, DPDT Director General Munim Hassan gave an illustration on the issue, while Director Rashidul Mannaf Kabir welcomed the participants.

Prof Towfique Alam, Director of Central Science Laboratory at Rajshahi University, Deputy General Manager of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation Rafiqul Islam and president of National Association of Small Industries in Bangladesh Shafiqul Islam also spoke.

Munim Hassan told the meeting that they have adopted multifarious steps for the country's economical, social and cultural development aimed at the best use of intellectual property.

Time-fitting measures were taken so that the entrepreneurs and innovators of big, medium and small industries can preserve their rights through bringing their activities under registration.

He also said they have adopted steps of making all the registration activities online and that will be implemented within a shortest possible time.
