DHAKA, Nov 26, 2024 (BSS) - After witnessing a downward trend in the last three sessions, indices of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today rebounded as investors remained active on sector-wise issues.
After witnessing volatility, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 7 points or 0.14 per cent to settle at 5,143.13. The DSES Index, representing Shariah-based companies, rose by 1.03 points to settle at 1,148.51. But, the blue-chip index DS30, which comprises 30 prominent companies, lost 2.44 points to close at 1,894.30.
Turnover, a crucial market indicator, stood at Tk 3.60 billion which was 3.20 billion at the previous session of the week.
Out of the 398 issues traded, 200 closed higher, 119 ended lower, and 79 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
NRBBANK was the most-traded stock, followed by MIDLANDBNK, AGNISYSL, BSC and LOVELLO.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) ended lower, with its All Share Price Index (CASPI) dropping by 63.84 points to settle at 14,332.18 while the Selective Categories Index (CSCX) lost 38.06 points, closing at 8,728.21.
The port city bourse traded 2.55 million shares and mutual fund units, with a turnover volume of Taka 75 million.
