NBR opens 'Helpdesk' for JS polls candidates to submit online income tax returns

DHAKA, Dec 25, 2025 (BSS) - The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has taken 
special measures to facilitate candidates intending to contest in the 
upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections by enabling online submission of income tax 
returns during holidays.

To simplify the process of online return filing for prospective election 
candidates, NBR, with the assistance of the e-Tax Management Unit, has 
launched a dedicated 'Helpdesk' at the e-Tax Management Unit office. 

The 'Helpdesk' will provide necessary services related to online income tax 
return submission.

According to the press release, the 'Helpdesk' will operate on December 26 
(Friday), 2025 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and on December 27 (Saturday), 2025, 
from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, said an NBR press release here today.

The service will be available at the Office of the Tax Commissioner, e-Tax 
Management Unit, National Board of Revenue, located at Level-7, Institution 
of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Ramna, Dhaka.

In addition, the NBR said the 'Helpdesk' services will also remain 
operational during regular office hours on December 28 and December 29, 2025, 
to further assist election candidates in filing their income tax returns 
online without any difficulty.

The initiative aims to ensure smooth compliance with mandatory income tax 
requirements for candidates ahead of the Jatiya Sangsad elections.
