BP reports sharp rise in profits in first quarter

LONDON, April 28, 2026 (BSS/FP) - British energy giant BP on Tuesday reported a sharp rise in net profit for the first quarter as crude oil prices soared over the Middle East war.

Profit after tax jumped to $3.8 billion for the January-March period, compared with $687 million in the first quarter of 2025, BP said in an earnings statement.
