Voting equipment handed to polling officers in Magura

MAGURA, Jan 6, 2024 (BSS) - Election materials including ballot boxes have been distributed from the office of returning officer of the district today for 12th national parliamentary election scheduled to be held on Sunday (tomorrow).

The voting materials were handed over to the presiding officers of the concerned polling stations of the district today from the Sadar Upazila Parishad office around 2pm. Ballot papers will reach the polling centers tomorrow morning.

District Election Officer Mohammad Masudur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Assistant Returning Officer Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Saddam Hossain, among others, were present. 

A total of 7,87,919 voters will cast their votes in 295 polling stations in the two parliamentary constituencies of the district. 

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Moshiuddaula Reza said that a total of 5 068 security personnel are working in the district for the overall security of the election. Among them, there are 985 policemen, 3,604 Ansar members, 320 army members, 100 BGB members and 37 RAB members.
