DHAKA, January 08, 2024 (BSS)-At least three people were killed and two others were in critical state among the four injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw ran over by a Dump truck at outpara area on Manikganj-Singair-Hemayetpur regional highway here this morning.

The deceased were identified as Jashim Talukder, 42, his grandchild Md Tashen, 5 and CNG driver Md Shahin, 52.

The accident was taken place at around 10am, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habil Hossen of Manikganj Sadar Police station.

Police and locals said a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying seven passengers heading towards Manikganj bus stand collided head on with a soil loaded dump truck while it [CNG] was overtaking and killed CNG driver on the spot.

Other two Jashim Talukder and his grandchild were declared dead when they were shifted to the hospital. The injured were admitted to the district hospitals.
