NETRAKONA, Jan 10, 2024 (BSS) - The historic homecoming day of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bangalee of all times, was observed in the district today in a befitting manner.

Netrakona district Awami League (AL) and its front organizations took various programs to observe the day.
 
The day's program was formally began with hoisting of national flag and party flag atop of the district AL office and placing of floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu by AL front ranking leaders.

As a part of the program, a discussion on the political life of Bangabandhu' was held in the district AL office at Choto Bazer here.

Chaired by president of AL Netrakona district unit Advocate Amirul Islam, the meeting was addressed, among others, by district level AL leaders including mayor of Netrakona municipality Nazrul Islam Khan, Advocate Mohammad Shahidullah, Professor Bijon Sarker, Mojibul Alam Hira, Advocate Rasel Ahmed, Maruf Hasan Khan and Abdul Kaiyum Rokon.

The AL leaders paid glowing tributes to the memories of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

They remembered Bangabandhu’s outstanding contributions in attaining the country’s independence and highlighted his political life and ideology.
