Journalists urged to present authentic info to mass people 

RANGPUR, Feb 8, 2024 (BSS) - Speakers at a meeting here today urged journalists to provide objective and genuine information to the mass people as media is the fourth pillar of the state. 

They said journalists present various types of news to the public through media, so they have to keep in mind that they should not provide falsehood and wrong information to their readers as well as audience, rather the must provide genuine information. 

The speakers came up with the opinion while addressing a view-exchange meeting on the role of media at Dinajpur Zila Parishad Auditorium, said a press release.

Regional Information Office, Rangpur organised the meeting attended by local journalists.
 
Senior Information Officer of Rangpur Regional Information Office Md. Mamun Or Rashid presided over the meeting while Assistant Director of Dinajpur District Information Office Md. Alamgir Kabir and Assistant Information Officer of Rangpur Regional Information Office Md. Rupal Mia were present as special guests, added the release. 

Mamun Or Rashid, in his speech, said "Newspapers are the mirror of the society and the state. In a democratic state, the media is called the fourth pillar of the state and journalists are the driving force of the fourth pillar."

Journalists, who were present at the meeting, said meetings have an important role in improving the skills of journalists, so enhancing the professional skills of newsmen is necessary to organize regular meetings and workshops under the initiative of Regional Information Office as well as District Information Office.
