KUSHTIA, July 13, 2024 (BSS) - Two construction workers died and another was injured after inhaling toxic gas inside a septic tank while cleaning it at a house in Bagoan Madhopara village of Mathurapur union under  Daulatpur  upazila   of the district today.

The deceased were identified as Liton Biswas, 30, son of Haran Biswas, resident of Bagoan Madhopara village under Daulatpur upazila, and Rajon Hossain, 28, son of Yarul Hossain, resident of the same area.

Liton Biswas first got down into the septic tank at the house of Mosharof Hossain of the area and he got trapped inside the tank while cleaning.

Later, Rajon Hossain and his younger brother Mizan Hossain got down into the septic tank to try to rescue him.  But both died around 8am and another was injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station, inspector Mahabubur Rahman said.

Police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy, OC said.

Necessary action will be taken after investigation, the OC added.
