JOYPURHAT, July 16, 2024 (BSS) - A woman and his son were crushed under the wheels of a train in Bagjana rail station area under Panchbibi upazila of the district last evening.

 
The deceased were identified as Shahnaj Begum, 25, wife of Moniruzzaman Mithu, resident of Motihara village under Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur district and her son Shoaib, 5.

According the locals, a Panchagarh-bound Ekota Express train hit them from behind, when they were walking on the rail line in the area around 6 pm last evening, leaving them dead on the spot, officer-in-charge (OC) of Panchbibi Police Station Faisal Bin Ahsan said.

Legal action will be taken in this connection, the OC added.
