GAIBANDHA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - A woman died from a snake bite early Tuesday morning at Kaumaridanga village under Mohimaganj Union in Gobindaganj upazila of the district.
The victim has been identified as Rimi Khatun, 35, wife of Shahidul Islam of the same village.
According to family sources, Rimi Khatun had entered the cow shed early in the morning to feed the cattle. Shortly after entering, she was bitten on the leg by a venomous snake hiding in the shed. She was critically injured.
Family members rushed to the scene and immediately took her to the Gobindaganj Upazila Health Complex. However, the attending doctor declared her dead on arrival.
Officer-in-Charge of Gobindaganj Thana, Bulbul Islam, confirmed the incident.
