MADARIPUR, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - Two siblings drowned while playing on the bank of a pond at Atipara village in Dasar upazila of the district yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Hafizul 8, and his younger brother Hamza, 5. They are sons of Nayeem Mallik of the village.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dasar Police Station Mohammad Ehateshamul Islam quoting family members said that the children went to a nearby pond to play on Wednesday afternoon. But they did not return home. 

In the evening, locals recovered their bodies from the pond.
