113 mandaps being prepared to celebrate Durga Puja in Bhola

BHOLA, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS)–Preparations are on in full swing across Bhola district ahead of the upcoming Sharodiyo Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindus.

According to the district administration, this year Durga Puja will be celebrated in 113 puja mandaps. 

Of the 113 mandaps, 27 are located in Bhola Sadar, 20 in Borhanuddin, 8 in Daulatkhan, 19 in Lalmohan, 15 in Tajumuddin, 13 in Char Fashion and 11 in Monpura.

To ensure a peaceful and smooth celebration, the district and police administrations have taken four-tier security measures. 

Police and Ansar personnel will be deployed at every mandap with additional security arrangements in places of key location.

Executive Magistrates will be assigned to all seven upazilas during the festival, while the Additional Deputy Commissioner will oversee overall coordination and monitoring system.

Bhola Deputy Commissioner Md. Azad Jahan told BSS that 56.5 metric tons of rice has     been allocated for the mandaps from the district relief office and each mandap will receive 500 kilograms of rice.

Superintendent of Police Md. Shariful Haque said a strict security arrangement has been made throughout the district to prevent any untoward incidents during puja celebration.

Sibu Karmakar, convener of the Bhola District Puja Celebration Committee, expressed satisfaction over the visible and proactive steps taken by the interim government for ensuring a joyous and peaceful Puja celebration.
