Infrastructure development project inaugurated at Dinajpur Rail Bazaar

DINAJPUR, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - A project worth Taka 1.26 crore aimed at developing modern facilities at the traditional Rail Bazaar in the district town has been officially inaugurated today.

Dinajpur Municipal Executive Engineer Md. Minarul Islam confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon, saying that the initiative falls under the Modern Hat Bazaar Construction Project. The development work includes the construction of RCC roads, drains, fish and meat sheds, tube wells, street solar lights and public toilets.

“The completion of these infrastructural works will restore the aesthetic appeal of the Rail Bazaar Hat and ensure greater comfort for both buyers and sellers,” Engineer Minarul Islam said.

Deputy Director of the Local Government Department and Administrator of Dinajpur Municipality Md. Riaz Uddin formally inaugurated the project at 12.30 pm. 

Municipality Executive Engineer and Municipal Council Executive Officer Md. Minarul Islam Khan Sohel, Assistant Engineer Md. Mizanur Rahman Siddiqui, Deputy Assistant Engineers Mir Tofazzal Hossain and Rimel Ahmed, Market Inspector Md. Mostafizur Rahman Bakul, Executive Assistant Md. Hamidul Haque, Contractor Saifullah Harun, District BNP leader Shawkatullah Majid Badsha, and Projonmo Dal District Convener Biplab Kumar Nag Joy, along with other municipal officials, employees, and local dignitaries were present.
